Principal's Message - COVID 19 Update

9 August 2021

Dear Parents, Carers, Guardians, and Friends of St Luke’s Anglican School

COVID 19 Update: 9 August 2021

On Sunday the Queensland Government announced the easing of restrictions for the 11 LGAs that had been in lockdown and new restrictions for the Cairns LGA. The lockdown directives for the Cairns LGA apply if you have been in the area since 4pm Sunday or a member of your household currently residing with you.

Face Masks

Following the advice, students and staff who have been in one of the 11 LGAs, are welcome to attend  school yet must continue to wear a mask (Year 7 and above) for 14 days since the last day they or a  household member were in one of the impacted areas.

Irrespective of the directive, any staff member or student who would like to wear a mask is welcome to do so.

I understand there are variations and unique circumstances which do not fit easily into the directives. Please contact the school and we will do our best to work through these circumstances.

Any changes to upcoming events or school operations will be communicated in advance as required.

Yours  sincerely

Craig Merritt
