11 November 2022

Dear Staff and members of the St Luke’s Anglican School Community

On behalf of The Most Reverend Dr Phillip Aspinall, Archbishop of Brisbane, and the Council of St Luke’s Anglican School, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Virginia Warner as the next Principal of St Luke’s Anglican School, commencing in January 2023.

Virginia is a highly regarded educator and leader with over 25 years of experience in Anglican and Independent Schools in Queensland. She commenced her service in Queensland in 1999 as an integral part of the All Saints’ Anglican School’s middle years program and most recently served as Deputy Principal, Strategy and Innovation (Preparatory to Year 12) at Coomera Anglican College.

Committed to human flourishing and building cultures that acknowledge the individual and celebrate the power of community, each chapter of Virginia’s career has been grounded in the expression of authentic faith and the beliefs that: high levels of care, inspire hope and agency; the science of wellbeing and excellence in academic learning go hand in hand; the pursuit of mastery is aligned to a sense of purpose and persistence towards meaningful goals.

A lifelong learner, Virginia has a master’s degree in Management (Griffith), a diploma in Educational Leadership and Theology (Australian Catholic University), and a Bachelor of Education (University of Western Australia). She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has over ten years of governance experience in Independent Schools in Queensland.

Virginia was attracted to St Luke’s, in part, due to the articulation of the St Luke’s Way: Faith, Performance, Honour, and the clear focus on educating the mind, heart and character. Virginia is

committed to leading our students to develop confidence and character, the courage to act, and an aspiration towards personal excellence and commitment to making a difference in our world.

On behalf of the community, we congratulate Virginia on her appointment as Principal and look forward to welcoming her and her husband Dean to Bundaberg and the St Luke’s Anglican School community in January

Yours sincerely

Mrs Herna Conradie

Chair of School Council
