What is an OP?
Overall Positions (OPs) are a statewide rank order of students based on their achievement in authority subjects. OP results demonstrate how well students performed in their Senior studies, compared to the performance of all other students in the State. The OP is a position in a rank order (first, second, third, etc.), not a score.
There are 25 OPs, from OP1 (highest performance) to OP25 (lowest performance). Many students receive the same OP, because each OP represents a group of students whose achievements are comparable enough to place them in the same band.
About 2.5 percent of the OP eligible population receive an OP 1.
St Luke’s graduates consistently attain Overall Position (OP) results that are above the State average. Approximately 80 percent of the students elect to be OP eligible with the balance of the senior students electing to pursue alternative pathways upon graduation. In 2015 St Luke’s celebrated 4 students who attained the top OP 1 rank. 75 percent of the senior year graduated in the OP 1-15 range. We are very proud of our Senior students as well as the teaching staff who encourage and support each student in attaining the best OP outcome possible.
