2017 Principal at St Luke’s Anglican School
Dear Members of the St Luke’s Anglican School community,
On behalf of the Corporation of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Craig Merritt as Principal of St Luke’s Anglican School commencing January 2017. Mr Merritt has been appointed after a competitive and intensive recruitment process to ensure the most ideal candidate for the continued success of St Luke’s.
Mr Merritt is Deputy Principal at Hillbrook Anglican School at Enoggera, Brisbane where he has served since 2010. Mr Merritt is currently Acting Co-Principal during a period of study and long service leave by the Principal. He is a highly respected educator with a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence.
Mr Merritt holds a Masters of Education: Leadership and Management Major from the University of Southern Queensland; Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland and Bachelor of Arts: History and Economics Majors from the University of Queensland. His professional background includes leadership roles as Head of Senior School at Whitsunday Anglican School, Mackay and Subject Co-ordinator for History and Geography at Hillbrook Anglican School.
He is excited about the opportunity to make a positive contribution in the role of Principal of St Luke’s Anglican School and ensure the continuation of the safe and caring environment for which St Luke’s has become renowned.
Craig and his wife, Tamara, have been blessed with two children, Chloe age 6 and Ashton age 4. Both Craig and Tamara are looking forward to becoming active members of St Luke’s Anglican School and the Bundaberg community.
School Council is grateful for your continued support and involvement in St Luke’s and is excited to share this announcement with you. I look forward to introducing Mr Merritt to St Luke’s as Principal early next year. Mr Merritt has a strong foundation on which to build. This, paired with his values, vision and passion will ensure the school continues to strengthen its reputation as one of this area’s leading schools and we look forward with enthusiasm to this new era for St Luke’s.
